Description
After changing careers in mid-life, I am having more fun than I can describe! As a master gardener, owner of a garden design company, and gardening coach, I have had the opportunity to teach classes in design and started a gardening magazine called Grandiflora Mid-Atlantic Gardening (which sadly failed after 10 issues). My book on gardening in Virginia is a basic how-to with some of the real world tips I could have used starting out. Recently, I have been able to branch out into developing meadows and building/restoring woodlands for several clients and it is a delight. Just today, in one of these meadows, I saw a Baltimore Oriole. What a treat! I love big, bold perennials for sunny locations, and magnolias for any place. For shady locations, I love texture and the interplay of colors. Disease resistant, beautiful, and fragrant roses are dear to my heart. Reducing the chore part of gardening and thinking ahead to make things easier is my goal.

My husband and I have had the good fortune to attend Donna's presentations; I have also taken her class. She is an insightful speaker who presents new ideas in ways that make sense. Her broad experience informs her presentations. While her underlying theory is sound (and fascinating) she brings pictures and case studies to show how they play out in reality. Donna is a wonderful, clear, articulate and thoughtful speaker. We hope you have the chance to hear her, too.
