Lisa tells it all when it comes to gardening and cut flowers. Her contagious spirit inspires beginners as well as the seasoned gardener. The positive impact of Lisa’s work as a speaker is well documented by the excitement that occurs after a program. She is commonly referred to as “the best program our club has ever had.” Lisa’s sustainable and organic gardening experiences have been gathered from everyday life on her cut-flower farm nestled in the heart of the City of Newport News, Virginia. Along with her speaking, Lisa takes on many different roles: cut-flower farmer with husband Steve, business owner of a mail-order catalog, writer, and an avid supporter of garden club and master gardener events. Lisa’s energy permeates a room; her experience ignites the love of gardening; and her simple methods inspire. If you want a speaker that leaves your group wanting more, contact us today!

Fall Planting is so Much More than Bulbs and Pansies!
There is so much more fun to fall planting than bulbs and pansies! Your group will learn about a family of plants that are seldom talked about; they are known as “hardy annuals.” Planted in fall, they thrive through winter and start their show come spring. The best part is that they need the least amount of care of any garden plants. This includes poppies, larkspur, sweet peas, snapdragons, nigella, delphiniums and oh, so many more!
Making the Most of your Fresh-Cut Flowers
Whether you are bringing fresh-cut flowers in the backdoor from your garden or home from the Farmer’s market and grocery store, these steps will have them lasting longer. A behind-the-scenes look at some of the arranging tools you can use to have more fun with flowers. Includes the demonstration of different types of flower frogs and arranging accessories, conditioning, and harvesting tips.
