Description
Marty Wingate is a Seattle-based writer and speaker about gardens and travel. Landscaping for Privacy Timber Press) is her latest garden book. She is the author of three previous books: The Bellevue Botanical Garden: Celebrating 15 Years, Big Ideas for Northwest Small Gardens, and The Big Book of Northwest Perennials.
The Garden Plot, the first in the Potting Shed mystery series, is now available an an ebook.
Marty writes garden articles for a variety of national publications. She is a weekly guest on the Greendays segment of “Weekday” on KUOW (94.9 FM), Seattle’s NPR station. Marty and her colleagues on Greendays won a 2010 Silver Trowel award from the Garden Writers Association for on-air talent.
Marty has a master’s degree in urban horticulture from the University of Washington, and is active in the Arboretum Foundation, the Northwest Horticultural Society, the Royal Horticultural Society, and the Garden Writers Association. She leads garden tours to England, Scotland and Ireland, and North American destinations.

Marty Wingate is an entertaining garden speaker who always delights audiences at the Northwest FLower & Garden Show. She is well versed on a wide range of both design and plant topics and conveys warmth and humor in her speaking. Her seminars are always well organized, light hearted, and packed with useful information just right for both veteran and new gardeners alike.
