I’m a freelance writer and speaker, born and raised in Oklahoma. I live in a log home on 7.5 acres at the edge of the Great American Prairie and the deciduous forest. I speak on a variety of topics. Gardening in the south is a favorite.

We so enjoyed Dee's talk on Marian gardens. It was so important to be able to know which plants grow best here in Oklahoma. Dee is so knowledgable and interesting to listen to.

I heard Dee's presentation (along with Mary Ann Newcomer and Carol Michel) at the 2011 GWA symposium, and I was glued to my seat! The topic was 'garden blogging' and I have no doubt at the end of the talk she had convinced everyone who doesn't blog to hop on the computer and do so immediately! Her humble and down-to-earth style is very engaging and I highly recommend her to all!

Dee gives the lowdown on tough roses...
Helen Weis from Oklahoma - 03/11/2011 00:43:49
I had the pleasure of hearing Dee speak at the Garfield County Master Gardener meeting where she spoke on 'Tough Roses for Oklahoma'. Her knowledge and experience are admirable, as it is not easy to grow roses in the Oklahoma soil. I was delighted to discover the many cultivars I can begin to incorporate in my designs. I found Dee humorous and engaging and well worth my attention.
